Every time I see your face it makes me glad,

You are so small and fragile yet fiery,
You pretend not to care but you’re a mother of the year,

I want to be there in your good and bad times,
I want to be there in your time of joy and weeping,

I long to wake to the sight of you next to me daily,
I long to see you play with our children,

I hope to relieve you after a stressful day at work, 
I promise to listen to the office gossip with the same enthusiasm as you tell me, 

I wait patiently for your pregnancy appetite, 
I am ready to be scratched and punched while you put to birth, 

I look forward to terrorizing our daughter's boyfriend, 
I anticipate the day I would walk our daughter down the aisle, 

I hope we share our old age together,
I long to tell our grandchildren tales jointly,
